Tragic News from Moroso

Chris Gould, driver of the Firepower Jet Funny Car out of Maine, was tragically killed today at the Citrus Nationals at Moroso Motorsports Park in Florida.

I've just been punched in the stomach....

This one hits very close to home as Chris has always been a great showman and competitor at his many visits to NED. We all talk about the "good guys" in the world of drag racing and Chris was definitely one of them. I had read about the crash last night, but the racer involved was not mentioned...I knew he was running down there and was hoping that it either wasn'y him or the report was inaccurate. I was wrong on both accounts.
Chris was a guy who was truly living a dream and had built a successful enterprise doing what he loved.

This is a sad day.
