Higgy, Oh it's true it's true I had a BB on my window. But it was necessary because it was the only way I could run defense and knock out the other racers who where still gaining points. And Doug (Mad Dog) Souza bought back as well so that our team would have all the cars still in and we could divide and conquer. :D

Sounds like you are successfully applying rule number 1...
You don't have to like/agree with the rules to work them to your maximum advantage. A point earned in week #2, or a point prevented, is worth the same as a point earned on the last day.
I disagree completely with the concept of buybacks, however I too will do whatever I think necessary to win. :D
For me it is a bit too early in the season and who knows how things will look by August, but good call in my opinion.

joey, you are correct,bb is a bad idea for a points race but using the rules to your best advantage is the right thing to do.(i still dont run a two step or trans brake though)with the cost of bb i dont think i will bb this year.it realy sucks because i lost both weeks to bb entrees.
did anyone catch the finals of mod this weekend?

Hi everyone . Just finished reading Teds post,is buying back really a way to bend the rules???? My luck i'd lose again, then thats 2 times at one race, thats 2 times too many, twice the cost and twice the disapointment...... Don't sound like fun to me. Ummmm just my 2 cents TK

I didn't intend to "bend" the rules. I was only commenting that depending on the goals of the competitor, there is nothing wrong with taking maximum advantage of the rules.
If you play a game of dice and everyone is allowed two throws, and you believe that everyone should only have one throw, if you limit yourself to that one throw and your competitors throw twice, you will be at a disadvantage. If your goal is to win the game, whether or not you believe that two throws are right or not is not the issue. If you do not do everything you can to achieve victory, you place yourself at a disadvantage.
I do not agree with buybacks. I think they are in-appropriate in a points race. However if my goal is to win the championship, and buying back increases my odds of achieving my goal, I will buy back.
By not buying back I may make a personal statement to myself and a few others about my beliefs. By achieving victory I can probably gain a larger audience and most likely gain credibility and therefore my views may be regarded with addiional respect (sometimes).
I simply believe that Joey is keeping his eye on the season championship ball and doing a great job.

Thanks Ted!! I also as most of you know don’t agree with buy backs but I will do what I have to to win. Like Ted said, nobody is bending the rules, just using them to their advantage and if some people want to call it dirty then that’s fine by me. To: Tom Kerr, think more positively about your self and you will go further, I know because I had the same attitude you have last year and I ended up going into a really bad place mentally. Just do what you have to do and you will feel better. :D

To everyone I hope none of you have to take Medication that causes problems with normal functions of life. Now my final words, i will beat this problem and i will beat everyone of you too. Hey Tom, don't worry about it Bud! We all have our issues, big or small, but remember...you have friends that frequent Epping that will still be there when your "ready".
I think I saw Higgy praying a week ago to a likeness of yourself, in his trailer. I'm not sure what the candles were about though..

Well Joey - would you buyback into the 3rd, 4th and 5th rounds if they offered it? What's the difference? Weren't you busting me last year for the one time I bought back? I'm just surprised at how some things change in a year. Personally I don't care what others do with their money.
Hey Pete - can I get an article of clothing and some hair from you? I have to make a little doll for a project I'm working on. :)

Higgy- No I would not buy back if they offered it in the latter rounds, nor would I buy back if they offered points to buy backs, because in that sense it would be dirty and wrong. I bought back because I thought it was the best thing to do in a situation like that. I did bust you last year but it was all in fun and I know that your post was all in fun as well but judging from your last reply I cant tell if you where playing or not. So in closing every one buys back at some time and if you or any one else chooses to see me as a disappointment then fine.
