.....I turned 50. Went to drop my engine in yesterday and I'm looking at it thinking "something's missing" - yeah the FLEXPLATE! DOH! Anyone have any similar stories they want to share? :rolleyes:

Had a engine put together by a supposed reputable source broke it,pulled out dist all teeth on dist drive and cam missing pulled timing cover no cam button then pulled pan no million dollar windage tray went to machine shop and they told me o those were left out because the guy had trouble fitting them and you didnt ask if we left any parts out so sorry cant help you.
Bought a blower motor popped blower started to take motor apart the idiot had the burst plate bolted from the inside out and said he didnt do it then pleaded with us to loose the parts and not tell anyone.

Being the frugal Scotsman that I am, I prefer the pacemaker be left set where it is so that the battery will last longer. ;)

Maybe he had some inside poop on future rules changes.
Page 56 paragraph 3 of the 2010 rule book:

"All supercharger burst panels shall be securly bolted from the inside to prevent the release of excessive explosive gases or CO2 emmisions into the atmosphere."

He’s not referring to a “burst panel”. He’s referring to a pop-off valve. A plate bolted thru the blower manifold with 2 springs that relieve the pressure. Old school.

OLD SCHOOL isnt the word anyone remember a crager manifold,and at the time a pop off was legal for TD in IHRA (98ish).Thats why we have rule changes,and I still have it hanging up in the office for all to see

Nothing much to tell. i did have a habit of running out of gas when i first started racing. ran out of gas on the starting line once and after i crossed the finish line another time. i tried to stretch out my gas as much as i could. i finally realized you cant get 3 runs out of one gallon of gas.

Mines on dead "Empty" right now & if the gas shack is gonna be closed tonite someone better let me know ASAP so i can hit the Sunoco in route! :eek:
