What's everyone running for C/R and Fuel Octane?

I'm at about 5.5 to 1. We decided on vinegar & water for fuel. How about you?
It's kinda hard to figure because were using a new experimental camshaft with rubber lobes. It's kinda neat, the more RPM you turn the bigger the lobes get, equalling more lift and duration.
You must run synthetic oil in order to preserve the compound.
Correct valve lash is critical!!!!!!!

Interesting, very interesting! What company ground it for you?
It's ground with very specialized machinery that incorporates liquid nitrogen in order to make the rubber composite rock hard.
It’s called “Cryogenic Grinding”
Our company is doing it as an R&D project
We tried one out at the end of last season with no major problems. This season we’ve changed the composite mix to keep up with the stiffer valve-spring rate.

Mr. Dave,
Can your company grind one up for an old MOPAR racer? Can I trust what you would do for a MOPAR? I'll put your company name on the car and you can pay me contingency when I win!!!!!! Sounds like a plan!
Will send pictures of car for your magazine adds.:)
Mr. Bill
Sure, you can trust me to grind one up for an old Mopar, but if you ask me I think them old Mopars do a good enough job on their own of grinding up internal engine parts;)
Now, maybe you could spec it out a little better than the Chrysler engineers. Didn't they name the camshafts by colors?
An putting the Company's name on your car doesn't present any real financial risk, as far as pay contingency, with it being a MOPAR:D

Dave.
I'm about 10:1, i use the 110 octane sunoco cam 2 fuel. Seems to work very well w/ my combination......
Justin
Thanks, Justin
Anyone done a comparison between Cam II and the VP stuff?

They are spelled different. After extensive testing last year, that is the conclusion of the test committee. (Cam 2 and VP-C12
After 9 years of racing the same stock rods, only one has broken. A between rounds thrash repaired that with grey duct tape.
Oh Boy, There nothing like that diagnostic mind of a veteran MOPAR owner
With such a scientific thought process It’s hard to believe it took you Mopar guys so long to develop the Duct-Tape fixes

It wasn't Mopar guys, it was a Chevy person! Without that magnificent picture and article you posted, I never would have given it a thought. Thanks!
Future tests will
be run on red, yellow, and black D tape.
Results are to be posted as GM's needs arise.

Of course the only reason Chevy guys find that stuff is cause we never have to fix our cars:D . Gives us plenty of time to read and surf the 'net.

Hey!
Have any of you guys ever adjusted the valves on a small block Chevy, with the engine running, and at temperature? Now, that is fun!!!!!!!!
PS: Nothing to divert the oil allowed.
What you’re talking about is the result of the superior Chevy oiling system, unlike that of the Mopar where the feeble pump can’t build enough pressure to make it to the valve - train:eek:
