Hey all,

Due to the unfortunate meeting of a 3/4 ton Ford Van (at 25 mph...driven by an illegal alien with no license) and the rear end of my elsewise pristine 2003 SVT Focus (which was sitting at 0 mph in traffic) I have a question for any autobody peeps in the house. I am looking for info on the price of body parts for this thing. The insurance company is coming out to look at the car and I am wondering if it is going to be totaled or not. Just looking for a ball park number.

Anyone have access to what these items cost for a 2003 SVT Focus:

Hood
Bumper (cover and actual bumper assembly)
Rear bumper (cover and assembly)
Entire Hatch
What does time on a frame machine run? There is some evidence of the car buckling in the rear where the van made contact.
Labor and paint for the pieces that need to be replaced.

Any ideas?

Here's what I've got,

Hood- $316.80 OEM approx $222 aftermarket.
Front bmpr cvr- $408.45 OEM approx $300 aftmrkt
F/Bmpr absorber- $55.82
F/Bmpr beam-$122.93

R/Bmpr cvr- $449.93 OEM approx $380 aftmrkt
R/Bmpr abs- $86.68
R/Bmpr beam- $129.20
R/hatch shell- $344.32 ( bare shell only )

Frame pull may run anywhere from $200 to $400 or more depending on the damage.

It's hard to say without seeing the damage but off the top of my head I would figure $1500 to $2000 paint and body labor.

If you need an entire hatch inc glass I would check out car-part.com

Funny you should say that....

There were actually 4 "temporary guest workers" shoved into the front of the van when it hit me. Amazingly, when the police showed up there were two. I tipped off the cop and he dragged the other two jerks out of the van about a minute later.

The dude that was driving had the whole "No English" thing going for a minute, until the state cop realized that one of the other cars in the train of wreckage was driven by a guy who could speak spanish....the van driver was not very happy about that. Needless to say, I was.
