The slingshot is a pretty cool ride, but having an injector in my face might give me a diffrent opinion.

See, I know you guys like top fuel dragsters and funny cars..........<g>
I have a friend, Don Ewald, who owns the We Did It For Love fuel dragster picture site. His favorite saying is " count to 5 and duck ", which is what many of us did in the old days to escape the wrath of a tired old 392 that had 10 runs too many on the rods.
The owner and driver of the car below is Dan Horan who raced in Southern California in the 60's, 70's 80's, and brought this same car (which is still sitting in the shop at his house in Big Bear Lake, CA) back out in the mid 90's and ran 6.17 at almost 250 mph with a cast iron 392 Chrysler. You can see Horan took Ewald's advice, he counted to 5 and ducked.
This bang is pretty violent, as you can see he cleaned off the top of the motor, and knocked the rods out the bottom at the same time. Horan is quite a character. He has told this blowup story many times. Every time he tells it the story is just a little different.....<g>. The end of the story is, " and I got it stopped ".
I was lucky, I had some blowups, but not like Horan's.

"digger" Dan Horan and his kid now run one of the most fearsome nostalgia funny cars on the VRA circut.
It is a really bitchin' Mustang that caused some controversey a while back because of the body dimensions.

Final round - 10,10 and 10.... Let's see, we've got no more pulleys, and we're already running the can... I'll just twist 30 more in the mag.
