I know it's Monday but my brain just kicked in and needs exercise!
I was thinking - since my "new" engine did not make it one full pass about running my old one all year again. I put 85 runs on it last year and will do at least that much this year. Do you think it's asking for trouble running 10.70's? It IS a chevy though. :D
I usually freshen up my engine every year no matter what. Dave - this is what I call a "Scottish freshen up". New oil.

Mark, like Mr. Dave, I thought you rebuilt after every round!
I usually just clean the Chebby oil mist off the front of my car after following one down the track.
I really don't understand how you dared to go 85 runs without a complete new motor! ( Scottish?) :D

Mopar following a Chebby.....Ain't that the truth:D
"Dave - this is what I call a "Scottish freshen up". New oil."
Mark I'm impressed....I would have figured you to have just strained the oil through some old pantyhose. You kilt wearing guys should know all about that stuff:D
The motor should be fine......

I'm telling ya Mark, Don't listen to Mr. Dave! He has nothing to do this week, but eat pizza! Better buy a diaper for that 85 run Chebby!
One thing that can ruin a good pizza..... A rotten TOMATO:eek:

your chebby willl never run long enough to be a mopar higgy, oil never stays in them long enough, so when you put 950 passes on it as a certain green dart in mod did 4or 5 years ago let us us know ok, and mike pomerleaus duster before he bought it had a bunch on that one too, come the think of it ever see mike breakin stuff? all the major incidents this year have beeb chebbbbys breakin the motors and getttin the car in trouble, quit playin the bowtie song on the scotiish bag pipes

Gee, I always it was that a Mopar would never run long enough to try to be a Chevy:D .
Higgy,
Your motor will be fine. Talk to Mr Dave about how long you can run one;) . 5 years or 10k passes is about right for a Chevy:eek: .

Mod 313,
How do you suggest the yellow car and the red car run on the 15th?
Should the red car use a throttle stop, or will the yellow car have stepped up enough, where one isn't needed?
All the little Mopar jokes have been fun to read, but, time is getting short.
Mr. Bob thinks that bringing a knife to a gunfight isn't the way to go!
Do you all have a gun in the Banana, that hasn't shown itself?
My practice so far, has been to have a Banana for breakfast every morning, in anticipation of having to beat the peel off one, that has been the source of those funny faces and jokes pertaining to Mopars.
:D :p

pentastar power wiil win in the end bill, no throttle stops heads up hammer down, track inspection should be done to make sure there are no Baana sskins on track, no bowtie bottles all throttle they have been runin all winter those bowtie lips put it on the line first man to the finish line wins, ccrt started the mopar slam make him pay. he challenged you Bill take him out!!!!!!!!!!

Mr Bill,
I have know doubt that the Banana is not afraid of the Tomato. That said , no matter the outcome there will be no losers that day as all will have had a great time with good people. Kind of a win, win deal:) . But I have no doubt that Mr Dave will have the necessary weapons to stand tall with the Mighty Tomato.

Mr. Dave will have the necesssary weapons!
I wonder what that could mean?
Maybe Mr. Bob should be there that day to keep an eye on the banana?
Think I'll dig into my spare parts in case they are needed!
Ummmmmmm, think that's what I'll do!
Ho hum, what could those Chebby people be up to?:o

Bob - Mike Pomerleau put a BIG hole in his block a few weeks ago. I told him not to let Ernie build his engines! ;)

thats to bad mark but how many runs total were on the stock rods? you guys forget alot of thing when building a so caled race engine, did the rods come out of a engine with 100k on it and recieve mag, shot peen, new bolts and get resized, well maybe that might have something to do with it, metal fatigues with age and it dont matter what brand it is mark, itseems to me that chebby uses less metal in theres, ask any balancer whose rotatingassemblys are the heaviest he will tell ya mopars and fords, i wonder if mikes stuff was stuff that had been in the car for years, i remember when than car was white and ernie and manning ran it together back in the early 80s fatigued metal breaks mark you should know that.

Sat. June 15, 2002:D
To all my Chebby buddies... bring a hardy appetite to NED on the 15th cause the Tomato will be ripe for picking. It should be a gas;)
Wanna go best 2 out of 3???? What am I thinking:eek:
Everyone knows Mopars can't make back to back runs without a tow truck:D
I've learned alot about Tomatos these last two weeks with all the pizzas:D
