View Full Version : Did anyone go straight yesterday?

Saw a lot of aborted runs. The track was too cold I think. I was victim of an oil spill in the first round and was not allowed to rerun. Jeff Nunes had an oil pan leak which the starter poured thinner on and mopped it then told me to stage - in hindsight I should've just backed the car out! Spun right at the hit of the throttle and got sideways almost. It sucks because I ran 10.76 and 10.75 in TT. Would've been a good race if the track was OK - I had a 539 light and Bob "Killer" Lohnes had a 508. (Brian don't buy him anymore stuff!)

Yeah

We ran straight......straight for the jersey barrier as we pull 2nd gear in:mad:

.508 way to GO! Mr. Bob.... I hear that he used the practice tree so much, the heat from the bulbs supplemented this winter's heating bills :D

BTW: Mark do you mean a MOPAR was dripping:)

No drips here! But making right turns isn't in my bag of tricks! And the washboard effect doesn't go over to big in my book either.

Hope the track can get things straightened out. I know they don't want it that way either!

First time trial of the day, right hand lane. Car hooks, then spins, heads right for the bleachers. I back off, straighten it out and get back on it and the same thing happens.

Rick White is a couple of cars back. Same lane. Same thing happens to him.

They fix it by the next time trial. There were lots of spots on the track all day. Staging consisted of trying to avoid the shiny spot.

I was covering alot more than a 1/4 mile all day. But in 3rd round it was really bad. Car made a hard move to the wall a 10-12 feet before the 330ft mark in the right lane of course. Decided to abort the run only to find out I had a .513 to the other guys .542. The worst part is that is the old concrete not the new stuff. If it's going to come down to who can stay in it the longest I guess I won't be winning may rounds till the track somes around abit. I for one can't afford to be repairing the side of my car after a meeting with the wall. On the bright side I did manage to run right around the 10.90 mark at 132-133mph on the stop for 2.5 seconds. Next Sunday if the track is good i'm going to take off my 950hp and try a 1150 and really see what this thing will do.

The right lane was bad! I was moving around a lot. So I went to the left lane which wasn't that bad for me.

I had a much better time in left lane for 1st round. The right lane did same thing on my 1-2 shift that Mr Dave did. Very poor conditions to race under.:(

First to Jeff Nunes and secondly to John Bloemke (sp?) because it was MY fault. Seems that I have not been lining up in the narrow groove and these guys "straightened me out". Sorry. When John cleaned up the oil I moved my car to the right - DOH! While talking to Jeff I told him I spun in the 1st round yesterday and he said "what happened? I wasn't in front of you this time!" It's SO embarrasing but I can admit it when I goof up. This crow tastes lousy!

The $5 day, the track didn't come around until after lunch time:(

So many street tires draging the water up. We had a tough time hooking.
